Who takes the Cheese?

My partner and I contstantly try to come up with something original to sell on Ebay so we can make millions and millions of dollars like everyone else that sold "Virgin Mary" stuff.

One day, finally, she found this in the cheese that we were eating. I think it looks like the side view of Lincoln at the memorial. What do you think we got for it, yeah, that's right, nada, zero, nuthin. It kinda looks like DGM on the toilet. Maybe we just didn't market it right.

What do you think it looks like?

This is going to sound bad...very bad.
I'm hooked on the news. I watch a lot of news shows. They've all been talking about the US Immigration policy. People are protesting everywhere. Here's the bad part, sorry if I offend anyone, but I bet they could wrangle up quite a few illegal aliens in those protests, huh?

One protesters sign said "Due process to all". Hell, the immigrants have more rights than I and my partner have. One guy said he came to the US for a better life and we should let him since his Country couldn't provide it. Well, why the hell don't they go and protest there then? huh?

Bottom line for me is I don't like illegal immigration. You wanna come over here, then do it legally. Don't like your country, do something about it. We did.

And the Winner is........
Dunbar beat us (St.V) in the semi-finals on Friday.

My son made it to Columbus with no difficulties. Everyone still decided to stay overnight in the hotel. So who knows what went on. I don't want to know. I called him about 10 pm and told him not to be driving that car all over Columbus. He said people were drinking at the hotel, but he was not. Yeah right! I really don't know, but he wasn't slurring his words at that point. I was a teenager once too ya know.

He made it back to Akron ok too. So worries are over. Phewwww! I'm pretty proud of him.

In other news:

The Lexapro seems to be kicking in. I have a lot less anxiety and I don't feel like I'm gonna flip out at any moment. I take my other son to the psychiatrist tomorrow for further evaluation.

Set them Free
My oldest (16) is off to Columbus to watch his school in the high school basketball state finals. As much as it scares the hell out of me to let him drive 2 hrs away, I have to set him free. Where I came from, a little podunk town in Indiana, there was never a chance that we'd win the regionals, let alone the state championship. So, this being a very exciting time in his high school life, I just have to let go and hope/pray for the best.

So here's to letting go and growing up.

In other news:

Spring is here! Yeah!!! The birds are a-singin fo sho.

Also, we bought my son an Akron map for his car! (See previous news brief.)

Dark Thoughts
Usually I don't REALLY share here. Most times I like to keep things upbeat. That's how I am in real life too.

I think I've written before that my youngest son (14, 15 next month) has been on depression medication. It's been a year now. We've switched meds and changed dosages in that time, trying to get to the light, if you know what I mean.

Last weekend, he had an "episode". He has a rage so severe that he cannot control it. He did not hurt himself or anyone, but he said he heard voices. One voice was trying to reason with him to calm down and the other he said, said no. I could tell it really freaked him out. He's not sure if it was it own voice or not. So I called Childrens Hospital to schedule an indepth interview with a psychiatrist. I also talked with our GP, who is so wonderful. It's weird that when I called the hospital, I had to leave a message. The recording said, that due to the number of calls they receive, I should get a call back within one business day. My god, how many adolescents are having problems? There are only 3 Adolescent psychs in Akron, the rest are psychologists or counselors. That's why I had to go through the GP for meds. My son did not like counseling, at all. Let's hope this time, he will be more open.

He stayed home from school yesterday. We discussed how he was feeling. I asked him he was having suicidal thoughts. He said no. He's pretty open and honest with me about what's going on if I ask him directly. I went home to check on him at lunch and as I was walking up the stairs to his room, I said to myself that my life could take a drastic turn for the worse in the next 30 seconds. Will I find my son dead. It's a dark thought. One I have often.

I'm not looking for sympathy or advice here. Just sharing. Things like this are real, not just on the news.

For Free.....Really?
Yesterday, at the grocery, we picked up the requisite 4 for $10 twelve packs of pop, or would that be twelve pack of pops.....whatever. In the check-out lane, the cashier said since we bought the packs of pops, we could have FOR FREE mind you, a liter of diet coke (had to be diet). Yukity, yuk yuk. I said no. She then went on to say, it's free. I said, so what, no one will drink it at our house, why waste it. She said only about every 8th person in line turned it down. Here's my dedusement, either people can't turn away ANYTHING free, or lots of people just like diet. I hope it the lather, I mean latter.

In other news:

My son got his license about two weeks ago. On his first outing by himself, he got lost. I'm happy with that, at least he hasn't wrecked, right?

p.s. I'm just ignoring the fact that I haven't posted in two months, so shut up.
